  1. 1Open claude.ai settings, Customize, Connectors. Anthropic moved connectors out of Settings, so an older link may send you in a circle. That one works.
  2. 2Choose Add custom connector.
  3. 3Name it CaseMCP and paste https://casemcp.com/mcp as the URL.
  4. 4Leave the OAuth client ID and secret fields empty. Claude sorts that out with us automatically; filling them in is what breaks it.
  5. 5Add it. Claude sends you to casemcp.com to sign in and approve, and then you are done.

ChatGPT

A little longer, because ChatGPT hides custom connectors behind a setting.

  1. 1In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Plugins, and scroll to the bottom for Developer mode. Turn it on.
  2. 2It is labelled elevated risk, and that wording is about custom connectors in general rather than about us. It is what lets you add a connector OpenAI has not reviewed. Nothing to worry about here, but worth knowing why it says that.
  3. 3Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and click the + at the top right. That button only appears once developer mode is on, which is why step one comes first.
  4. 4Name it CaseMCP, paste https://casemcp.com/mcp into Server URL, and set Authentication to OAuth.
  5. 5Tick the box acknowledging that custom connectors carry risk, then Create. ChatGPT sends you here to sign in and approve.
  6. 6Start a new conversation and add CaseMCP from the tools menu, or reference CaseMCP in your prompt. Confirm CaseMCP appears among the active tools before relying on an answer about your case system.

More than one case system connected?

Add ?cms=clio to the URL, or ?cms=filevine, and so on. Each case system has its own tools, so we ask rather than guess which one you meant. Most firms have one and can ignore this.

Gemini, or an editor that cannot sign in

Some clients cannot yet sign in to a connector. Your dashboard has a second URL with a key built into it that works in those, and it is the one place we ask you to treat a link like a password. If your client supports signing in, use the URL above instead: it identifies who is asking, which the keyed one cannot.
